With temperatures currently breaking records for all time highs in Las Vegas the immediate situation is of course serious. We have an opportunity to help by sharing water wherever we see people in need, whatever their circumstance. Alone we can only do so much.
What we're envisioning is a scalable solution involving a volunteer network. An ad-hoc network of distributor sites and drivers that can be quickly scaled up in the case of an emergency and relies on existing resources wherever possible. An example of this would include harnessing the power of drivers who already roam the streets for delivery work of any sort and see opportunities to connect with those who need help and provide some with little additional effort beyond what they're already doing on the road.
Another example of piggybacking on work that's already been done is quick recruitment of trustworthy distributors by relying on their existing background check with another service or app. There is already so much energy being expended in the world, we can power many efforts through this type of energy harvesting.
There are so many people out there who want to help and either don't know how or don't think they can because they don't have the resources. When those resources are provided and their behavior is reinforced and rewarded through an app or their own sharing on social media their motivation grows. Of course the feeling that comes with giving is the greatest reward and that alone quickly becomes a motivating factor.
The primary challenge with implementing a successful network of this kind is the potential waste generated from using plastic bottles to distribute large amounts of water. This would result in a significant increase in toxic waste, contributing to plastic contamination, which is one of our top environmental concerns. As this issue gains more attention, corporations and politicians will face increasing scrutiny regarding their responsibility in addressing this emerging environmental catastrophe. It is crucial to find sustainable solutions to balance immediate humanitarian needs with long-term environmental impacts.
There are already discussions about better packaging solutions from the same entities that once introduced "better cotton." However, we prioritize immediate action over more talk. Instead of contributing to the plastic waste problem, we aim to lead by example with customized biodegradable containers, similar to milk cartons or juice boxes. By tailoring these containers to our specific needs, we can achieve multiple objectives.
This container will serve as a calling card for The Wheel organization and its activities. People won't discard it without reading it; many will share it with others, and some will be inspired to get involved.
Every carton will be adorned with as much inspiration, hope, and love as its limited space allows. We'll approach this scientifically, curating and condensing the most effective literary wisdom and visuals proven to evoke a positive psychological response. There's no reason a piece of trash can't lift someone's spirits, offer guidance, and potentially change a life.
The power of suggestion is strong and the power of the placebo is unrivaled. Hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programing and even illusions will be considered while creating this label, as it's meant to be a tool to cause effect in the mind.
These words and images appearing in a time of need, as a gift can become a guiding light and a force of good for anyone in all walks of life. Whether you share it with someone in desperate situation or a youth soccer team stuck in sweltering heat, you can know you've planted a seed infused with potential.
