It all started with upcycling cycles and that's where our heart is. Expanding upon our upcycling activities, sharing what we're doing over social media and teaching others how to do the same is a self-replicating system. We love self-replicating systems almost as much as we love keeping bikes out of landfills and putting them back on the road. But we love nothing more than gifting a bike to someone in need. Depending on the situation, giving someone a bike is the equivalent of giving them a pair of wings. Its more than transportation. It's freedom. It's hope.
When you're experiencing hard times, transportation can mean the difference between being able to make a job interview or not, or whether you'll be able to see your kids or not.
For a family who cannot afford to buy a decent bike for their child, this gift mends hearts.
A properly outfitted bicycle can serve as a delivery vehicle, creating an employment opportunity for a person in the right situation.
An overlooked but substantial benefit to receiving a bike is the impact it will inevitably have on the health of the receiver. The health benefits of cycling are substantial, leading to improved mood and well-being. Exercise, especially cycling, is a powerful antidote to depression, offering joy and a sense of freedom.
When we're able to take what was someone's garbage and fill such a need with just some elbow grease and thoughtful intent, somewhere up above, an angel gets his wings. You can feel it. Others won't need much of a push to pursue this same type of activity in mass numbers, all they need is the inspiration and a quick education.
When we transform what was once considered waste into a life-changing gift with just some elbow grease and thoughtful intent, it's as if an angel gets its wings. This feeling of making a difference is contagious, inspiring others to pursue similar activities en masse with just a bit of education and inspiration.
There is a generation dreaming of being influencers. By providing step-by-step instructions on how to do something wonderful and clever, we can motivate them to capture their efforts on video and share them with the world.
I'd like to see our upcycling center become a model for others all around the globe.
We're always experimenting. And we're out there on the streets, where the rubber meets the road literally and figuratively. Upcycling is constantly providing new ideas for things that can improve the life of someone in need immediately.
Business waste is another challenge that invites creative solutions. In Las Vegas and other cities, large-scale business waste is abundant. We are exploring ways to encourage businesses of all sizes to route reusable items to appropriate destinations. This can be made profitable, using the profits to further our mission and expand our impact.
